#1 Opportunities for authentic communication in target language (for HS Spanish students) and making real time connections with people around the world.
It makes it easy for the students to submit projects, to provide feedback and answer questions. EdModo is my favorite. Also, the kids love it! Great Neck, NY
Learning to use Web 2 tools has dramatically spiced up what we can do in the classroom - when motivation is key, we need to upgrade our own toolbox regularly!
Web 2.0 tools are a fun & engaging way to take learning out of the classroom & develop assesment for learning in the classroom. Great to share ideas & resources
Challenge, engagement and motivation, our and theirs are just some of the reasons that we must embrace this scary, terrifying and amazing technology
Because it works, it engages, it's rich in possibilities, and it can bring learning to the students on their own terms.
Oh, and it's fun!
dynamic and useful approaches to teaching and learning. Ooh and they look really lovely some of them dont they?!?!?!
use web 2.0 to avoid making a very good job of educating children for the last century
I use Web 2.0 to make a connection to the real world. Through web 2.0 stdts can have a real audience. Also for engagement and motivation.
Because it's a language our young people understand. If you can't beat them, join them!
Web 2.0 can increase motivation for both teachers and pupils. Don't be scared . We need to move with the times
Accessible tools, authentic material, latest information, access to resources and communicating with people all over the world. It is a great motivator
Because how often do you get that "Wow that was cool" moment with the kids? With web 2.0 its almost daily!
Above all, Web2.0 can be great fun for teachers and learners alike - with the right support and a bit of enthusiasm!
Add the enjoyment, high levels of motivation and increased levels of uptake by the pupils to your own feelings of pride and enthusiasm for a winning combination
tech which is freely available on the web & is 2nd nature to our learners can be motivational; coupled with a real pedagogical purpose it can b transformational
Use Web2.0 because it's relevant and will enhance teaching and learning; to support and improve activities, but never for the sake of it!
To me, many Web 2.0 tools and resources bring *magic* into the classroom. The key is to ensure the technology always serves the learning, not vice versa.
We need to present knowledge in a modern way which looks to the future world, and which speaks to students in their language, the language of the digital native
Web 2.0 can seem scary at first. New things, different approaches, time needed to investigate and learn. But vs motivation+ effective learning? A true winner
